Brad's comments are important to heed.  Our stepper motor problem on a
long trip (but in my parents drive way only 210 miles from home)
included a short which took the A/C computer with it. Thank God for
warranty as the computer's price was $1,100.

Get someone who knows what they're doing or make sure there are no
shorts in any of the A/C systems before you hook it back up and turn it
on.
