i wouldn't do this for two reasons.  first, on an alfa, that drain plug sits
at the very lowest point on the sump, with no protection from scraping on
the pavement (unless you have a sump guard).  second, the stock alfa drain
plug has a magnet in it.  not only does it trap stray metal bits and prevent
them from getting into areas where they shouldn't, but it's a real good
thing to observe during oil changes.
