July Alfa Owner

A question for all of you Alfa Owner subscribers out there:

was reading the SPICA article in the current (July) issue of the Owner
where the author was relating how he diagnosed a sluggish SPICA injected
spider as having an erratic advance curve - and that this was due to
having two different size springs on the distributor advance weights,
and that he was unsure of how this 'wrong' size spring had gotten in
there, and, long story short, fixed the whole thing by replacing with 2
equal springs. ?!?

Aren't they SUPPOSED to be unequal? Every Marelli points distributor
I've ever seen (admittedly not that many) has had unequal springs. If I
am a poor confused fellow I will need to fix my GTV distributor as
well. If not, then it seems a little disconcerting to have the Owner
spread this kind of misinformation...or did I just read something wrong?
