Tachometer adjustments

Do any digesters have experience with adjusting (calibrating?) the
tachometer in a 105/115 car? Mine is reading quite high, so it needs
adjustment or replacement. I took it apart as far as I dare, but it looks
like the only adjustment is the spring tension (in ~180 degree steps). Is
another means of adjustment possible?
