Spica to carbs conversion

Dr. Beredelli writes that the blanking plate that was used to cover the
oil passages for the SPICA pump was replaced with threaded pipe nipples.
No offense intended, but the plate is the right way to blank off the oil
passages (one into the pump under pressure, one back into the block).
Properly installed and tightened with the correct O-ring installed, the
plate doesn't leak. I don't know if you were able to find metric
nipples, but the American SAE ones will make the oil passages too large
to refit the SPICA if needed (the O-ring won't fit) It's a real bear
to refit the SPICA after that sort of hack.(AMHIK). Hans Milo and I
converted an '81 back from Webers to SPICA that had that sort of
"modification" and there was a great deal of work involved in repairing
the damage so the SPICA would fit without leaking oil.
