We should consider ourselves lucky that we live in CA (and probably 
most other states) where just $40 or so will buy one the license plate 
of one's choice - if somebody else hasn't beaten one to it. In England, 
one doesn't get to choose and plate numbers with significance are sold, 
sometimes for THOUSANDS of dollars er, I mean pounds.
