[alfa] RE: Propeller Shaft Intermediate Bearing

Use a 2 tooth puller and C clamp. The puller teeth will try to pop off
because of so little grabbing area--keep the puller teeth squeezed in with a C
clamp on the outsides of the teeth. Maybe some very well placed zip-ties
would keep a 3 tooth puller put, and you wouldn't have to overcome the
tendency of the two tooth puller to swing to the sides, which is a pain.
Pull the outside piece out about an inch or so to expose and stretch the
rubber between the pieces, then cut the stretched rubber with a razorblade
knife. If you have enough tension on the outside piece, piercing the
stretched rubber will instantly rip the rest of the rubber. This completely
frees the outside piece. As I recall the inner piece was much easier to
grab with the puller, and came off with some tension and a hammer tap.
Good luck,
