[alfa] Banging GTV

I have W&D springs all around on my GTV and Spax adjustable shocks.
Ward suggested that I extend the limit straps to 1.5" with a longer metal
strap, which I did.

My problem is that when I take a right hand turn on a bumpy surface,
I get some pretty loud banging coming from the right rear wheel; sounds like
some one banging on the sheetmetal with a hammer. My friend with a '71 GTV
with W&D spring, new shocks, and the extended limit straps, gets the same
banging but on left hand bumpy turns.

Anyone else experienced this phenomenon? My one thought is that the
extended limit strap are the culprit but on a right hand turn isn't that
corner under compression? Or is it the combination of the bumpy surface and
the compression/release doing it to it - shocks involved ??

PS - want accurate temp coolant readings? With the engine stopped,
remove the bleeder bolt by the thermostat and dunk in your favorite
thermometer. The system isn't under pressure so the coolant won't be
gushing out. I found that my gauge reads low - 175 on the gauge is actually
168 F. My actual 175 coolant temp is one needle-width above 175 mark on the
gauge.
