[alfa] Halogen rear light bulbs

The risk with halogen bulbs is that they tend to run very hot.
OK in modern cars with multi-cubic foot tail light enclosures.
But in a vintage Alfa, the tail light/brake bulbs sit very close
to the lenses, in small enclosures.  This may lead to molten
lenses - a big issue given the scarcity/cost of Duetto and
early 105 coupe rear lenses.

I feel bad throwing cold water on what could be a great idea.
Admittedly the tail lights of older cars are miniscule compared
with today's behemoths.  Any driver born after 1970 has
never seen a brake light with less than a square yard of
surface area - let alone a vehicle lacking a center-mounted
third brake light.

Has anyone run halogen bulbs successfully in older cars?
