Re: [alfa] Spider cowl drain hoses

Hi John:

The later-type Spider hoses do have a formed curve, so they don't kink at that bend under the dash, but I think if you're a little creative you'll be able to find a replacement. Check at a Home Depot, Lowe's, etc, as they have a variety of rubber and vinyl hoses available. I bought some clear vinyl hose at Home Depot that worked fine on my '87, although I don't recall the size. When I made the bends, the hose didn't kink, but to make the curve a little looser, I gently heated it with a hair dryer after installation, after cooling, the curve held its shape well. I used a nylon zip tie at the top end to hold the hose permanently in place. The left hose was certainly more trouble to reach than the right. The bend has a fairly small radius, and a length of heater hose in the proper diameter may kink, but might be worth a try, too.

Hi,
(This may be appearing twice - I'm having some computer problems).
Does anyone know where to find replacement drain hoses for the Spider? These are the two hoses that drain the front cowl. Will heater hose work?
