Re: [alfa] hardtop bits needed

Dean,
You can get them from an Alfa parts place. I got a set from Paul
Spruell. What happens is that the plastic prongs that hold these panels to
the hold-down hook break off and the panel gets lost. When they break off,
just use some velco to hold them to the top.

And you can get the defroster switch from him as well. Just pop out
the cover plate, fish around for the color coded connector already in the
center console and you are ready - might be that you'll need a relay as
well. As to the defroster window, you'll probably find that not all the
'bands' work (probably a foggy day in Florida will be the only way to test
your window). The band has a broken connection and you can get the
'connector' fluid at just about any auto parts place. And the IAP Spider
manual shows you how to locate the line break.

Better keep those chrome buttons incase you want to take the top off
someday.

	Bruce

I've just found an S3/S4 hardtop for my '87 Spider. and there are a few
bits missing that I'd like to have. It looks like there may be a (black)
plastic snap-in panel to cover each of the interior side hooks that hold
the hardtop to the convertible top frame. Anyone have an extra set?

Also, how about that console switch that has hazard light controls on the
left side, and rear window defroster controls on the right? If you don't
have a hardtop any longer, and don't want to leave that switch hole open,
I'd be happy to send my hazard-only switch in exchange for the combo switch.

Finally, I've got a pair of those little chrome button-type hooks that fit
on the rear deck and are used for the hard-style top boot. I'd be happy to
send them to anyone that needs a set, for just the cost of postage.

Regards,

Dean
