RE: [alfa] A/C fittings in a '93 Spider Veloce



There are at least a couple of new, legal,  R-12 replacements some of which 
claims that it is much more efficient than R-12. Do  a  google search on 
R-12 replacement:

The A/C shops are not embracing them, because for a business to use them 
legally, they have to have another dedicated set of equipment so that the 
various "freons" can not get intermixed.  Some of them will work fine mixed 
with R-12 (just add to a system) but the shops are not allowed to do that

If there is a known seal problem in the compressors, would it not be better 
to get it rebuilt in order to get the replacement (better, I assume) 
seal?  And Who / what is "International?
