[alfa] help!!!! spider quits

Help!!   My 1993 S-4 spider had benn runnig just fabulaous
until this AM.  I was running late to work, pushing the
RPMs, took a turn with a bump pretty fast. Immediately, the
engine hesitated and then quit within 100 ft.  I coasted to
a stop.  Parked it and came back 2 hours later.  It would
start but barely run unless I pumped the acceleratot and
kept the RPMs above 2500.   Doing this I was able to limp
home  ( 1 mile)  It did not want to keep running at a
constant 3500 rpm and would stall out.  After repeated
stalls and restarts with the technique above, I could smell
gas or alcohol smell at times.  Once home the engine seems
to run fine at 3-6500 rpm but a little rough at 2-2500 rpm.
below 2500 rpm it stalls, would run a little at idle with
rpms 700 to 0 rpm , up and down for a minute the stalls.
The car had been a bit hard starting the last week as it had
never been before.  I have new fuel filter, new air cleaner,
realtively new Bosch plus 4 platinum plugs, ( have not check
them yet ) the plug and distributor wires are intact, no
apparent leaks, have original exhaust system ( ? O2 sensor).
I have been running the Squadra perfromance chip for 2 years
with episodic check engine light that seems to have been
over rich mixture related.   The current check code is 1224.
Naturally I have to travel out of town for the next 10 days,
so, it will be 1 1/2 weeks befor I can check further.
