Rainwater that falls into the cowl grille in front of the windshield is 
supposed to be drained by two large hoses that drop down the passenger 
compartment, then turn forward and exit the firewall, and drain into 
the front wheel wells. I would check the condition of the hose 
connections.  A similar arrangement is found under the side edges of 
the convertible top (two tubes).
