[alfa] Press Studs - Duetto

Beatle asks about "press studs"  "These things are all over the Duetto. Are they all the same (floor, trunk, roof), What size are they, and  What material and finish they should be (chrome, brass, painted brass, painted steel) ?"; Gwynne replied that in the USA, they are known as "snap fasteners".
 
And in France, "press button", boutton de pression, and in Italy, "snap button", bottone a scatto, so both press and snap would be legitimate, with the edge going to snap. The rest gets variable; some were there when the cars left Turin, some added perhaps by the first owner when an aftermarket tonneau cover was fitted, perhaps others for another later one or for a locally made topshop job. My first Alfa (and last ragtop) got fitted forty years ago with the types and locations of fasteners Robbins decided, and the prior MGTD got fitted with the sizes, materials and finishes of fasteners stocked by the neighborhood trimshop. Beatle's question is too broad for any definitive answer on forty year old cars.
 
What the books do give are the Alfa parts numbers, Farina parts numbers, quantities, forms, and limited descriptions of the floormat fasteners. They are the same for the Spider 1600 (a.k.a. "Duetto") and the 1750 Spiders in both coda rotonda and coda tronca versions. The Farina parts numbers are potentially useful, as the OEM parts may be available from Fiat or Ferrari dealers if not from Alfa. They are:
105.03.61.218.00/01 (pf 0.228.4.001.7) fastener, snap, small black (12)
105.03.61.218.00/02 (pf 0.228.4.013.2) fastener, snap, double (6)
105.03.61.219.00/01 (pf 0.228.4.011.2) fastener, snap, male (6)
105.03.61.220.00/01 (pf 0.228.4.021.2) fastener, snap, female (12)
 
For the later cars, don't know, but I would bet the same.
 
Apparently starting with the squaretail 1750 there are also turn-fasteners (gancio per tourniquette and controgancio per tourniquette) for the top cover, again with both Alfa and Farina part numbers. 
 
For the rest, sizes, materials, finished, numbers, locations should reasonably be (like radios) ad lib limited only, at most, by reasonable conformity with the tastes and techniques of the period.
