[alfa] Starter screeches

Cats,

My 74 GTV has the 131 tooth flywheel and I had the later 
starter put in. The part number ending in 024. I verified this
when I got it. It lasted a week and my mechanic swapped
it for a rebuilt unit at a shop in San Francisco. I don't
know the shop. Right now it starts, but right before the
engine catches, there is a screeching/grinding noise.
I haven't looked at the part number of this starter. Is it
the wrong one?
