If you think there might be a mechanical breakage, remove the side
inspection plate from the pump section and see if the #4 plunger is moving
up and down correctly. It could also be that the plunger gear that engages
the rack gear has a loose or missing screw, thus slipping and not allowing
fuel into the #4 barrel. If so, it off to Wes Ingram's shop for repair. That
part has to be carefully calibrated on a flow bench and matched to the other
cylinders. Although not common at all, those screws have been known to back
out in rare cases.
