It could happen..  ;)

To the original poster (Joe?), check the instructions on the web site.  You
might be looking at a language problem, such that maybe you should be
raising the value of the resistance instead of lowering it?

The web site I recall dealing with the L-Jet was quite good, however it was
a reverse engineering effort.  Further, not all L-Jets are the same inside,
some use different circuitry in places.
