Re: [alfa] What year did 185x70 tires start?

Hi Carl:

I'll take a shot and guess that the 185/70-14's didn't hit Spider's until after the Turbina's were gone, as they're right on the edge of being too narrow for that width tire. So, let's call it '82; first year of the Bosch L-Jet Spider, and those new-style Daytona 5-spoke alloy wheels. Make any sense? FWIW, I've got those same wheels on my '87 Veloce, and Cromodora repro's of the original Daytona's on my '74; both with Falken 195/60HR14 Azenis tires.

If this is a real serious issue for you. shoot me a personal email, and I'll be happy to dig up my copy of R&T's Alfa road tests, which has many Spider's included, so the tire size change should be easy to find.

Dean

I didn't get an answer before, so will try again. Anybody know what year
Alfa first offered 185x70 as an option and what year they made it the standard
tire?
