[alfa] Running out of gas

In addition to my Spider's low fuel light comming on at about .5 of a gallon
remaining, that's about the time it starts to stumble from fuel starvation.
Some times the car will start to show the same symptom with as much as 1/8 of
a tank remaining.  Is this typical?  Do Spiders have a screen or filter on the
in tank pump?  Thanks.
