Re: [alfa] Fwd: FISPA Device instead of alternative Spica fuel pump?

Kevin,
I once had a similar flickering Berlina fuel pressure light that I traced to a bad ground on the fuel pump feed wire. Now that you have ruled out the filters, check voltage at the running pump to see if you have a weak electrical connection (less than 12V with pump running).

As to the FISPA check valves, my statement of them being there to block backflow of unfiltered fuel is just speculation. As John Hertzman pointed out, that wouldn't explain why Alfa put in two of them. Perhaps they were necessitated by the prepump/top outlet change in late 70's. On the other hand, I have seen these valves on later Alfettas too, and their fuel outlet port is at the bottom (but still higher up than the outlet of the early Spica cars). Now I'm rambling..

Farzan (who didn't even get the spelling of his name right the first time!)
