[alfa] lodging in Carmel, CA [minimal Alfa content]

Hi Alfa travel bureau:  I am going to a wedding in Carmel, Cal. over
Memorial Day weekend. Never been, and wife & I are excited. The hotel where
the wedding will be is too expensive--the lowest rate available is literally
$499 a night. Any suggestions for something in the general area between 150
and 300 a night? I know car nuts on the West Coast go Monterey from time to
time.  All suggestions appreciated. Also, anyone in the Monterey are want to
rent me their Spider or GTV to drive around for the weekend? Thanks!
