[alfa] rear brake pressure compensator - position

Dean, here are your options depending on what the compensator looks like
and how it is located (north / south or east / west).

If it is a pretty hunky item, one end looking almost like a short shock
absorber, then according to the parts manual for your car, the inlet to
rear is in the middle, and outlet to rear is at the end with the large
bolt and assume it might be a banjo fitting but can't tell for sure.
What confuses me is that surely the bracket comes with this type of
compensator or one would have to disassemble the unit to install on
bracket unlike the one's on the two cars below which have a single
retaining bolt from unit to bracket.

'79 Spider's compensator is  considerably different looking, much more
compact and doesn't have the big 'tube' at one end. In this car it is
located east / west. The same hole orientation applies - middle one is
inlet to rear, one closest to the bracket, goes to rear.

Compensator on a '79 Alfetta GT  looks similar to one on '79 Spider but
is mounted north / south. Line from front goes in side inlet and hole
(outlet - located on other side and nearest to bracket) obviously goes
to rear brakes.

Parts book refers to it as a regulator. I like compensator better but
spell checker doesn't.
