I have suffered this. It binds then gives a sort of twang free.
Take out rubber bung over offending strut mounting.
Pour in teaspoon of light engine oil, over the big nut.
Replace rubber bung and after days, and more days  and  still more days and
the sound could well go. Might took around six months I think for the oil to
really get in there to the extent I stopped noticing the noise.
