Any suggestions on an alternate Alternator for my (72) Stag? and how to?
The Lucas in it wore a brush down to the spring and tore up the slip ring (commutator).
I'd like to replace it with something more up-to-date, for parts availability, etc.
Can't really complain about reliability of the Lucas - it lasted 26 years - although obviously the design should have precluded the spring being able to come in contact with the slip ring.
