Re: Petrol Fumes

                      Re: Petrol Fumes 10/25/98
I'm also a recent victim of horrible petrol fumes in boot. Would it be worthwhile to remove my tank from car and attempt to pressure test it under water to look for bubbles? I was carrying a small jug of petrol in boot for my lawn mower a few months back, and it tipped over, so I expected smell for a while. But it's still terribly strong, even with all carpet and boards removed, esp. after driving. Seems it would have aired out after three or four months (and I have been leaving boot lid open).

Also, my fuel pump sometimes stops working - just stops clicking over, esp. on warm days, usually after sitting with engine off for a bit. A couple of whacks with any nearby utensil usually starts it up again, but I'd hate to get into middle of Timbuktu and have it quit completely. Advice on cleaning/rebuilding the unit?
