Thanks to all for your off-list replies - it appears that my experience
with the coolant level rising from just below the clamping strap when
cold, to the bottom of the neck at operating temperature, is normal for
my MkII Stag (stock MkII radiator, with the pressure cap on the overflow
bottle).
