RE: Copy of: Leaking Dash Pots

There is a very small 'o' ring in the base of the oil reservoir, which
stops the oil leaking down the needle.

It is just a case of removing the 4 screws which hold the dashpot cover on,
and stripping the needle out to gain access to the oil seal. You will
however need the special mixture adjusting tool, both to strip it out and
to re-adjust the mixture afterwards but this is a good investment if you do
not have one already. It comprises a very long Alen key, with a sleeve to
hold the piton from turning. There are two types of tool, early and late
so take a note of the carburettor number off the brass tag before you phone
for parts. Burlen of Salisbury are very good stockists and will mail
order.
