Welcome

I welcome you to the digest, I hope you enjoy. Like you, I also hate the
incorrect 'subject'.

While we are on these subjects, you have the digest address shown
incorrectly as 'Stag Owners Club'. The correct address/title is
'stag-digest' or 'stag mailing list'. The Stag Owners Club mentioned is
not in any way part of the facility we have, nor do they contribute.

The warning light problem is in the regulator, for some reason it is not
disconnecting from the charge circuit when the alternator output is
negative (at low revs). The alternator should however be providing
positive current at 550 engine revs, so your symptom is also suggesting
imminent output problems. On the Mk1 there is a separate control box on
the right-hand wing, which is quite easy to attend to or even replace if
needs be. On the Mk2, the regulator is integral and I am afraid that an
alternator rework is usually necessary, there may also be some diodes open
or short circuit. Another symptom of this probelm is a battery which
sometimes will not hold its charge - what it is doing is discharging across
the alternator field windings!

I hope somebody in the USA has a radiator sensor for you, otherwise Moss in
the UK may be able to help. If these sources do not work, please put a new
message out on the mailing list and I will make some more detailed
enquiries for you. I know somebody who has (had?) large stocks of aircon
equipment in the Netherlands.

You have some interesting Alfa's, clearly you are temperamentally suited to
owning a Stag!

Again, welcome to the digest.
