Well...Ken's got a Travelall so-equipped, and it *was* the base engine.
Doesn't seem much of a stretch to say yes to that.
Several years ago (early 1990s) I was picking up parts for my Scout at the local IHC dealer.

The parts man - having done business with me for several years - told me to go look in one of the work bays.

What I saw was an (color was sort of a) international orange circa 1970s 1200 4X4 pickup truck, with a straight 6 engine.

The parts guy told me that the truck had an actual 60 miles on the odometer, and that it had been purchased new, then stored until recently.
