[ihc] Rogers Codger's steering Collar

Roger,
the GM lock ring typically requires a special tool for removal and
replacement (done it without, but wouldn't do it again).
The tool is commonly called a Horn Ring Compressor and is available in a
small kit at Harbor Freight for what I remember is around $10.
It's a wide jaw with a threaded rod in the center and the center post has a
socket that threads on the steering stem. Tighten an
outer compressor nut down and it pushes the horn ring back and you can pull
the c-clip off super easy.

Save yourself some time and bloody fingers and get the tool. For the ONE
time you might use it (now?) it's worth the $10.
Plus, afterwards, you'll add a few little bit and knickknacks to the kit
and be the envy of all your truck buddies!

:P

Hope it helps,

JoelB

It appears my problem is the ignition lock set - even out of the column
the ignition lock set will not turn properly , sound right? It sure
looks GM? Doesn't anyone have a model / year for the application?
That lock ring on the wheel lock is a B?$@#.
