[ihc] questions about spark plugs and fuel filters for the old-timers amongst us

I have two questions that perhaps someone here can answer. For a
1940s-vintage truck, Champion spark plug number J-9-64 is specified as
the proper plug. However, if I remember right, Champion has changed
their numbering system about twice since then. Does anyone have either
an older book or catalogue that shows the cross-reference to the newer
numbering system, or that explains what the number means so I can select
the modern equivalent? Or does anyone have any older books by their
competition that would possibly show the cross-reference to this plug?
Next, the same truck uses a fuel filter element that was made by
Bendix Aviation, number F-6x8. Since that time, Bendix has merged with
Fram, spun off several smaller companies, and purchased Purolator and
Dahl, and still makes filters itself. Again, someone must have an older
cross-reference book for that number, since it has to still be made by at
least one of those companies, or their many competitors. If it will
help, the International Harvester part number is 113787HA. Neither
number comes up on any online interchanges, and I am to the point of
calling the companies, but I would rather someone here show off their
parts search catalogue skilz. I know I could pull the element and select
it based on the dimensions, except it will require an hour drive each way
to get the old one, plus I find it hard to believe that this filter was
just discontinued or was not superseded by some other number over the
years.
