The kit's gonna be $60--$100, a rebuilt converter ??? , a GOOD, new, RV
converter, likely about $225.
The MAIN case casting is what mates it to the IH engine. Unique to IH. The
tailshaft housing is what mates it to the transfer case. Not necessarily
unique to IH, as I think some J**ps used 904's, maybe even 727's--and a
tailshaft housing from one will fit the other. The mainshaft also mates it
to the transfer case, and may well be a unique Scout part.
