My '71 800B blows a lot of hot air too.  It doesn't do much good though
because of all the bare cold metal in the interior and the drafts when
moving down the road.  

I would imagine that this wouldn't be too big a concern if I lived in
Fla though.  I think the heater would keep up there, just not when
ambient temp is -2 like this morning.  

I did replace the flexible ducting to the defrosters. I used the stuff
that is for the heat riser off the exhaust manifold up to the air
cleaner.  It was expensive, but ought to last and keeps its bends.
Prior to that, I had a nice warm dash and a fogged over windshield.

Who keeps saying that? I have a 62 scout 80, and it defrosts, and heats
like
a champ.
better than any of my other vehicles.( volvo, 928, jetta.)

Really, who says that? the defrost kicks lots of heat out, and it blows
hot
really fast.
