Don't think it was mentioned specifically, but I believe I said something
about how long it takes the manifold to warm p.  My scout is stock in that
regard.  Didn't have the tube when I started working on it, but I bought
some of the flexible metal tubing from the local parts house and it's
installed.  The flapper works correctly.  Doesn't seem like the exhaust
manifold gets warm all that quickly though...

Updraft carbs are fairly well known for carb ice in aviation circles.  Many
light airplanes use updraft or sidedraft carb.  Becuase there is no heat
rising from the engine they tend to ice up easier than in an automotive
application where downdraft carbs are common.
