Subject: [ihc] Travelall home from CO

I just got back from Pagosa Springs, CO, an hour or so east of Durango, where
I picked up a 73 travelall from the original owner.
Allan, last night I got back from Tomales, CA after a 16hr 600 mile excursion. I too have been entrusted with someone's pride and joy(at far less than market value, in my case a '60 B-110 Travelette :) . Discovered totally by chance about 18 months ago while picking up my '52 T-all, I left my # with the owner. I got the call in August and told her I'd get it by the end of Sept. I took a good battery, after pulling the points to clean them it fired right up and drove onto the trailer. I spent several hours today detaching the full-cab roof rack that had been welded to the drip rails. Unfortunately the design of the rack trapped crud against the lower edges of the roof, which now has significant perforation on both sides :(. Still, with Crismon reporting 666 B series T-ettes built total, it's certainly worth fixing! Now it's a toss up which is the rarest truck I have : is it this one, or the L series Travelall? In my mind, at least, it's the Travelette. The T-all used the same basic body shell from '52 through early '57(L, R and S series), while the early Travelette was mid '57 through '60(A and B series only) with a total of about 700pcs in both series.
