[ihc] Final chapter of nats. story... some good, some BAD but w/ good ending

Hey guys & gals, back from nats. Got home maybe an
hour ago(1:30am st. louis time) It was definatly a
time I'll never forget. And I finally got to meet John
& Wanda Hoffstetter. Not sure which was better.
Meeting them, or getting to drive that Cab-over. haha
Definatly meeting John & Wanda.

Those who remember hearing about dad losing his keys
on the way out friday night, well we got them back.
Stopped at the McDonalds he lost them at, and they had
them.

Remember that white K series IH firetruck, and that
early 90s IH Cab over that was lettered for a fire
department? The one I got to drive? :D:D Well, They
belong to the same guy, and he hauled the firetruck
there on a flatbed. Well, as he was driving through
the fair grounds to leave, the trailer came lose. The
fifth wheel hadn't locked in properly. Fortunatly no
one was hurt. The trailer didn't tip & the fire truck
wasn't damaged at all. There was a case wheel loader
on the property, and we had them use it & lift the
front of the trailer so Ray could back under & hitch
up again. Ray, myself, my dad, 2 other buddies from
OLDIHC, and a couple people from the fairgrounds
worked for about an hour & a 1/2 to get it
straightened out. The only damage was a ripped off
mudflap & a tire being torn(but still held air) on the
tractor, and a tweaked landing gear & the gearbox for
the landing gear was damaged on the trailer. After
that, the truck owner, dad & I had dinner together to
relax a little. So instead of leaving there at 5 local
time after the awards, we didn't get on the road till
8 local(eastern), or 7pm home time(central). We got
home at 1:30 central.

Later
Mark
