T-19's a Whinin'
-Fellow Digesters,
---Tonight when it became evident that I wasn't going to get the wife's
Pathfinder (AKA Ditchfinder) finished, I was forced with the decision of
chancing taking the Scout on the road. As you may know already, I was having
a problem with the vehicle cutting out (stalling) after it got hot, and not
wanting to start afterward. Same characteristics of a hot start issue, but
the Battery, Alternator, Starter, fuse panel wiring and everything is brand
new, with the exception of the ignition switch. Will charge the battery
tomorrow and see if that's the culprit.
---My main concern is that I have developed a whine in the drivetrain
somewhere. At first it only happened when I was at about mid-4th gear, but
after coming back from the gas station, it was in mid-3rd gear. I will take
her for a run down the road tomorrow during the day, after checking axle
lube. The tranny and the TC are both filled with fresh GL-1 mineral oil.
---Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated, one more thing, she
has sat up for a good 4 mos.
---Thank you,
