The cub bear was used with advertising for the Cub Farmall Tractor.  There
are even several versions of cast iron bear cubs with IH emblems/plaques
about 6" tall used as promotional items for dealers.
Along the same lines there were a Cadet version (kinda looks like an English
color guard soldier) for the Cadet lawn tractor line.
