RE: Think before you buy...



Well an MVS-TSO system shouldn't crash.  It has only had bugfixes
since1969.  It has had 30 years of continuous bugfixes.  It's pretty
antidiluvian.

I started back in the mid 60's with punch cards and 10k of memory on some
unremembered IBM mainframe.  When I got to McDonnell Douglas in 1989 I
first did some work on the mainframe.  It was a shock to see that the JCL
I had used 20 years earlier was still state of the art.  A real shocker.

The move to UNIX was a real eye-opener.  Even back in the 80's when I
first started with UNIX.  The debuggers were already there.  The only
thing that has been added in the last 10 years is windows so more info can
be displayed simultaneously.
