It's not the carb, anyway.

Really need some advice here folks,
I've been battling this problem for about a week now
and I'm over my head.
'73 Scout, 304, manual, 2210 carb. My idle is
ROUGH!!! I mean it sounds like it's running on 6
cylinders. I rebuilt the carb this weekend, replaced
all the vacuum lines. I re-gapped the points the other
day and put on a new cap and rotor. Checked all the
plug wires.
Since the carb is now rebuilt, I have kind of ruled
out a fuel problem and think it's spark related. When
I changed all the vacuum lines I also checked the
vacuum on them. The one that goes to the vacuum
advance on the distributor doesn't have any vacuum at
idle, is this normal? The line comes straight from the
carb, just like the manual shows.
I am a points novice, so that may be the problem,
let me know what to check next.
Thanks,
Russ
(San Antonio, in case anyones in the area and wants to
help!)
