  As I understand it, pressure is not *normally* maintained on disk brake
systems.
It is maintained on drum brake systems though.  Occasionally, on brake
system conversions the street rodders will have to put a Wilwood residual
pressure valve (2 psi) into the system to cure excessive pedal travel
problems.

  I agree with your advice to Mike A.  The stock proportioning valve has
has no function in his system.  He definetly needs one of the aftermarket
adjustable flow restrictors.
