Tom-

I am not for a second saying that you missed this leak under any normal
circumstances!!! You remember how that thing was running-it would
hardly go down the road at 15 MPH before violently jerking/backfiring.
I think the symptoms we were chasing were so extreme that we never even
got to the point of checking for vacuum because my distributor was so
mixed up! Of course, I still don't completely understand why it
selectively did this after we fixed it, and why it got worse with time,
but I can only assume that as it got "worn in" to its last set of
plugs/wires/condenser/points, etc, the problem was amplified. I think
it was running so much better and cleaner and "hotter" or with such a
stronger spark or something, that the problems did not show up
immediately. All I know is that I just took it out for quite a spin and
it still didn't act up. I am beginning to gain confidence in it again!

Thanks again for all your help with it!

Michael
