short shift T19
I was telling Dan and Joe this weekend about my short shifter experience. With the 3" body lift, I had to weld an extension on to the shifters. I cut them at the bottom put in the extension and welded the old piece back into place. Well, one day, I was beating on the '77 a little to hard and the shifter broke at the bottom weld leaving about 2 1/2" of shifter for me to work with. I grabbed a 9/16 1/2 drive socket with a 4" extension out of my tools to fit over the shifter rod. It made for interesting ride home, but i didn't have to move much more than my wrist to shift. That was short/quick shifts.;)
