There was a couple of us that had nova's one with a 4 speed the other
with an auto virtually identical except for the trannys.  When racing the
4speed would win if he hit the gears perfectly, The auto would if there
was any hesitation in the shifting of the manual tranny
I believe car tranny(Muncie) has shorter gear shift throws enabling
quicker shifts than are capable with IH truck trannys  .
