After reading this, I was about to concede that I was thinking of the
Civil War or something for the BG description as I've rarely hard the
description used for this engine and wasn't really sure, but in browsing
through Crismon, I noted on page 382 that he refers to it as the
Blue-Gray series, although his credibility isn't helped by a typo of -421
rather than -241 on the same line.
Have you had your eyes checked lately? :-)
Gray, grey, grae, greigh, ............, dirty white.
I also noted in the 1961 section, Crismon notes the new 4-152 engine for
the Scout was the Comanche. This may have been the start of the name,
although it appears from the reports of some owners it got applied to the
V-8's about the same time.
