Winch Plans and other ideas

Hey all this winch talk has me configuring my winch setup. I thought I
would throw it out here so if any one has any advice or further
recomendations they can let me know.

1) MileMarker 10,500 pound 2-speed Hydrylic winch.(Large cable)
2) AGR Super Pump ( greater pressure, more flow, and runs cooler)
3) AGR rebuilt power stearing box (quicker stops and High temp seals)
NOTE: (I included the stearing box as it runs off the same pump)

If I drownd the motor I plan on having a Chainsaw conversion that will have
a v-pully on it so I can take off the belt and still winch myself out by
running the pump off the chainsaw.

This gives me a system that will only draw 2 amps from the electrical
system and will not heat up as well as one that can run without the motor
running.

As a secondary thought I have a brigs 4 horse motor that I was trying to
make a genset out of. What if I made it so I could attach to a fabed
bracket with some bolts and run the pump off it. Also could be used for
running the air compressor for trailside repairs or when the motor is again
not available for this task. Hey if I had to do extended winch duties on a
trail this would be nice and quiet all day. Then in Base camp I could also
use it for running ????

Tom M. you should like the idea about running the compressor without the
scout motor chugging along.

Thats about enough brainstorming tonight. If anyone has any comments or
thoughts I would love to hear them
