Someone wasn't paying attention during the "flat tow" discussions a year ago....
Leave it in neutral, with the rear tires spinning, and you're still spinning
the t'case... but only *half* of it, which causes an oiling problem on a
bearing (I don't remember the particulars, just that it's a no-no)... if you
tow for any distance, you'll be increasing wear n' tear on the transfer case
dramatically.
That's why, when flat towing, either drop the rear 'shaft, or lock the front
hubs to spin the front side of the t'case.
Or... install a Warn Full Floater kit, and just turn the hubs out.
