Dana 20 *will* fit



Curt was right.  The late model transfer case has a very thin inner side 
to the shifter housing/bracket.. 15 minutes with my 4" grinder, one test 
fit, and a few minutes more, and the offending hunks of cast iron were 
removed.

I'm back to having 5 bolts in the transfer case, and no cracks!

Now, back to the motor... 

I had only messed with the float bowl gasket.. but I replaced it 
tonight.  Double checked they're #61 jets, too.

Didn't have a mirror handy to look for obstructions in the intake.

Plull #5, and found it fouled, but #6 was OK.  Still has a little lump at 
idle.. maybe I fouled another plug.

Hopefully tomorrow I can take a peek under the VCs.
