Re: Ignitions

Well, I read Doctor Jacobs book on ignitions, which is pretty good by
the way, in which he describes various ingition systems. When he talks
about computer ignitions, and more specifically his system, he states
that the computer reads the conditions inside the combustion chamber at
the moment of spark and then increases the output of the coil to
compensate for say a miss fire or a fouled plug. On the other hand if
the plug and stuff is clean and there is no carbon in the chamber or
whatever the computer will reduce the voltage out of the coil to just
what is needed on that spark.
Now the way I understand the MSD as opposed to the Jacods is the MSD
produces say 10 sparks per fire where the Jacobs mearly increases or
decreases the individual sparks per fire.
